About this item:
Fast-Setting Postfix Concrete is a factory-blended mixture of cement, graded aggregates, sand and performance additives designed specifically for installing posts. Supplied ready to use, the dry material is placed around the correctly positioned post and activated with water, avoiding separate measuring and mechanical mixing. It is suitable for timber, metal and concrete posts used in fencing, gate, signage and general landscaping projects.

The concrete begins setting within approximately 5–10 minutes, reducing the time posts need to remain supported before work can continue. Typical 28-day compressive strength exceeds 20N/mm² when the product is installed and cured correctly. It should be applied between 5°C and 25°C and must not be used in frozen ground or when the ambient temperature is below 5°C. The 20kg water-resistant bag provides practical protection during transportation and site handling, although unopened bags should still be stored off the ground in a dry, covered location.

Common Questions:
Q. How quickly does Postfix set?
A. The concrete begins setting within approximately 5–10 minutes. This is the initial set rather than full strength; the material continues curing and typically achieves more than 20N/mm² after 28 days.

Q. How many 20kg bags are required for each post?
A. The quantity depends on the post dimensions, hole diameter, installation depth and surrounding ground. One bag may be sufficient for a standard post hole, but larger posts and oversized holes can require two or more bags.

Q. Does the Postfix need to be mixed before use?
A. No mechanical pre-mixing is required. Position and brace the post, place the dry material into the hole and add the specified quantity of clean water according to the instructions printed on the bag.

Q. Can it be used for large or heavily loaded gate posts?
A. It can secure ordinary gate posts, but large gates impose greater leverage on their foundations. Heavy, automated or frequently operated gates may require a larger foundation and conventionally mixed concrete designed for the expected loading.

Q. Can the weatherproof bag be stored outside?
A. The water-resistant packaging provides short-term protection from site moisture but should not be left exposed indefinitely. Store sealed bags under cover, raised off damp ground and protected from punctures, rain and standing water.
