Product Overview:
The RB22 Water-Filled Barrier is a heavy-duty, crash-tested traffic restraint system developed for roadworks, highway maintenance and construction zones where vehicle separation requires verified performance. Connected in the approved configuration and filled to the specified level, the system is tested to BS EN 1317 N1 at 50mph. Each unit weighs approximately 60kg empty and up to 600kg when filled, combining manageable deployment with substantial on-site ballast.
Manufactured from UV-stabilised moulded polyethylene, the RB22 uses steel linking pins and side plates to create secure continuous runs while accommodating gradual changes in direction. The correctly filled barrier has also been MIRA wind tested to 78mph, supporting exposed applications subject to a site-specific assessment. Red and white colour options improve visibility, while integrated forklift channels assist handling after positioning. Compatible mesh fencing, steel hoarding, pedestrian gates and vehicle gates provide increased perimeter height, screening and controlled access. Crash performance applies only when the complete system is installed according to the tested manufacturer configuration.
