Website, Product Information and Installation Disclaimer
Last updated: September 2026
This website is operated by Nationwide Fencing Supplies Ltd (“Nationwide Fencing Supplies”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
The information provided on this website is intended to help customers understand, select and use our fencing, gates, barriers, building materials, accessories and related products. Please read this disclaimer alongside our Terms and Conditions of Sale, Delivery Information, Returns and Refunds Policy, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
Product information
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, measurements, photographs, prices and availability are accurate when published. However, products and specifications may occasionally be changed by manufacturers or suppliers without prior notice.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
• Product measurements are approximate or nominal.
• Minor manufacturing tolerances may apply.
• Photographs and illustrations are provided as a general representation of the product.
• Colours may vary according to lighting, photography, screen settings, material batches and manufacturing processes.
• Accessories, fixings, tools and surrounding items shown in photographs are not included unless specifically stated in the product description.
• Galvanised, powder-coated, painted, timber and concrete products may display normal variations in colour, texture and finish.
Customers should check the complete product description, selected variation, dimensions, quantity and intended application before ordering. If a particular measurement, finish, specification or compatibility requirement is essential, please contact us before placing your order.
Timber and other natural materials
Timber is a natural material and may contain knots, splits, checks, shakes, grain variations, resin, discolouration, waning or variations in moisture content. Timber may also expand, contract, twist, bow or develop surface cracks as it dries and responds to changing weather conditions.
These characteristics do not necessarily indicate that a product is defective and will be assessed according to the product’s intended purpose, grade and applicable legal standards.
Customers should store timber correctly before installation and apply any appropriate preservative, treatment or finish recommended for its intended use.
Concrete, galvanised and powder-coated products
Concrete products may display minor surface marks, colour variations, small chips or cosmetic imperfections resulting from manufacture, handling or transportation. These will not necessarily affect the product’s structural performance or constitute a defect.
Newly galvanised steel may vary in appearance and can include bright areas, dull grey areas, runs or surface texture resulting from the galvanising process. Powder-coated finishes can also vary slightly between batches and may appear different when viewed on a screen.
Any damage that may affect the structural integrity, safety or proper use of a product should be reported to us before installation.
Quantities, calculators and estimates
Any fencing calculator, quantity guide, coverage figure, material estimate or worked example provided on this website is intended as a general planning aid only.
Results may be affected by:
The precise length and layout of the fence line.
• Corners, ends, changes in direction and changes in level.
• Gates, openings and obstructions.
• Ground conditions and required foundation sizes.
• Cutting, wastage and site-specific installation methods.
• The dimensions and configuration of the products selected.
Customers remain responsible for checking measurements and quantities before ordering. Where necessary, advice should be obtained from a suitably experienced fencing contractor, surveyor, engineer or other competent professional.
Nothing in this section limits your legal rights where an incorrect result has been caused by our failure to exercise reasonable care.
Installation guides and advice
Our Help & Advice articles, installation guides, diagrams, videos, FAQs and customer-service guidance provide general information only. They are not a substitute for an inspection of the site or advice from a qualified contractor, structural engineer, surveyor, utility provider or other competent professional.
Installation requirements vary according to the fencing system, fence height, ground conditions, exposure to wind, soil type, site use, local environment and applicable regulations.
Before beginning work, customers and installers should:
Read the relevant product and manufacturer instructions.
• Check property boundaries and obtain any required consent.
• Determine whether planning permission or other approval is required.
• Locate underground and overhead services.
• Assess ground and weather conditions.
• Use suitable tools, protective equipment and safe working practices.
• Ensure that posts, foundations, fixings, gates and other components are appropriate for the site and intended use.
Excavation, lifting, cutting, drilling, handling concrete products and installing security fencing can cause serious injury if undertaken incorrectly. Installation should only be carried out by someone with the appropriate skills, equipment and experience.
Where there is any doubt about structural requirements, public safety, security performance or site suitability, customers should consult a competent professional before proceeding.
Site conditions and suitability
Nationwide Fencing Supplies cannot assess the condition of a customer’s land or installation site through an online order alone. The customer or installer is responsible for assessing whether the selected product and installation method are suitable for the intended location.
Particular care may be required where fencing is installed:
• On exposed, coastal or high-wind sites.
• On slopes, retaining structures or unstable ground.
• Near highways, public areas, utilities or watercourses.
• Around schools, playgrounds, sports facilities or other sensitive locations.
• For security, fall-prevention, crowd-control or safety-critical purposes.
Unless we have expressly agreed in writing to provide a professional design or site-assessment service, product recommendations are based solely on the information supplied to us by the customer.
Planning permission, boundaries and regulations
It is the customer’s responsibility to establish whether planning permission, building regulations approval, landlord consent, highway approval, party-wall procedures or any other permission is required before installation.
Customers should also confirm the legal position of property boundaries. Nationwide Fencing Supplies does not determine land ownership or boundary positions and accepts no responsibility for disputes arising from fencing installed in an incorrect or disputed location where we have not provided the relevant professional surveying service.
Delivery and inspection
Customers should inspect products as soon as reasonably possible following delivery and before cutting, modifying, treating or installing them.
Any apparent shortage, incorrect item or visible damage should be reported in accordance with our Delivery Information and Returns and Refunds Policy. Installing or altering a visibly incorrect or damaged product may affect the remedy available where the installation or alteration causes additional loss that could reasonably have been avoided.
This does not affect your statutory rights in relation to faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods.
Prices and availability
Prices, promotions and product availability may change. An item appearing on the website does not guarantee that it is currently available.
Occasionally, a product may be displayed with an incorrect price, specification or availability status because of human or technical error. How such errors are handled, when an order is accepted and when a binding contract is formed are explained in our Terms and Conditions of Sale.
