Mini Post Hole Digger 48” – Wood Handle (Sitemate)

Product Overview
Mini Post Hole Digger – 48″ Wood Handles (Sitemate) is a double-bladed digging tool designed to remove loosened soil from narrow fence-post holes. Opening and closing the wooden handles operates the steel blades in a scissor-like action, allowing soil and loose material to be lifted from the bottom of a hole without unnecessarily widening it. This can reduce excavated waste and the amount of post mix needed around smaller fencing posts.
The 1200mm handles provide useful reach and leverage while retaining control in gardens and restricted working areas. This tool is particularly effective after compacted soil has been loosened with a fencers graft or digging bar. It is intended primarily for scooping and removing material rather than breaking through heavily compacted, rocky or root-filled ground. The wooden handles are not electrically insulated and must not be relied upon when working near buried services.

Frequently Asked Questions
ToggleQ. Does the 48″ measurement refer to the complete tool?
A. The manufacturer describes the tool as having 1200mm (48″) wood handles. The complete assembled tool will therefore be longer than the quoted handle measurement.
Q. Will it break through compacted or stony ground?
A. It is primarily intended to scoop out loosened soil. A digging bar or fencers graft is better suited to breaking compacted ground before the material is removed.
Q. Is it suitable for smaller fence-post holes?
A. Yes. Its narrow double-blade design is particularly useful for preparing controlled holes for smaller-diameter fencing posts.
Q. Are the wooden handles insulated?
A. No. Wooden handles should not be treated as electrical insulation or protection from buried services.
