The Brenton Padbolt – 6×1/2″ 150x12mm Galvanised (GATEMATE®) is a surface-mounted sliding bolt for securing timber gates, shed doors, workshops, garages and other outbuildings. Its 150mm body and 12mm shoot provide a practical balance between compact installation and dependable restraint. Provision for a separate padlock allows the closed gate or door to be secured against unauthorised access, making it more suitable than a basic non-locking tower bolt where additional security is required.
Galvanised steel construction provides corrosion resistance for outdoor installation, while the welded bolt stop and knuckle improve strength around the working parts. The padbolt can be installed horizontally or vertically where the gate, door and frame provide suitable fixing positions. Compatible fixings are supplied for straightforward installation. The padlock is purchased separately, allowing the customer to select the required shackle size and security level. Correct alignment between the sliding bolt and keeper is essential for smooth operation and reliable closure.
