Product Overview:
Cranked Band & Hook On Plate – 18″ 450mm Galvanised (GATEMATE®) – Pair provides a robust hinge arrangement for hanging medium to large timber gates. Each 450mm cranked band attaches across the gate framework and locates over a hook plate secured to the supporting post. The cranked shape offsets the pivot position so the front face of the closed gate can sit flush with the front of the post.
The longer bands distribute the gate load across a wider area than the 300mm version, reducing concentrated stress around the fixing points. This makes the pair suitable for heavier garden gates, driveway access gates and substantial side gates weighing up to the stated 50kg capacity. Galvanised steel construction provides corrosion resistance for outdoor installations, while the lift-off arrangement allows the gate to be removed in the open position for maintenance. These are fixed hinges, so accurate positioning and a sound, correctly installed gate post are essential.
