The Auto Gate Catch – Medium Galvanised (GATEMATE®) provides convenient automatic latching for standard timber garden gates and side gates. When the gate is pushed closed, the catch engages with the striker and holds it in position without requiring a separate sliding bolt. This makes it particularly practical for frequently used entrances where quick, uncomplicated opening and closing are important.
Galvanised steel construction provides corrosion resistance for outdoor installation, while the medium-sized design is suited to typical domestic timber gates. The catch can also accept a suitable padlock when additional security is required. Exterior-grade screws and fitting instructions are supplied for straightforward installation. An automatic gate catch only latches the gate once it reaches the closed position; it does not pull an open gate closed by itself. Where self-closing operation is required, install a compatible gate return spring separately. Accurate alignment between the catch and striker is essential for dependable engagement and smooth everyday operation.
